The 134th Annual North Tipperary Agricultural Show is being held on Bank Holiday Monday 1st August 2011. A great show is being planned again this year so please keep in touch to see what lies ahead! The core attractions are cattle, sheep, poultry, horse and pony showing classes and show jumping. There are competitions for the best floral displays, photography, art, baking, cooking, needleword, fruit and vegetable produce.
We plan entertaining displays from local Irish dancing schools, modern dancing schools, tae quan do and martial arts clubs. There will also be a play off for this year’s title in the Boxing Ring. The pet farm will be complimented with some other attractions such as snakes, owls, hares, rabbits, vultures and hedgehogs for petting.
There will be two opportunities to watch the kosak rider display and for the daring among the crowd a bucking bronco challenge. Our dog show is always a favourite so if you have a dog make sure to bring him too and you can check out his obedience in the Agility/Obedience Ring . A children’s corner has a selection of bouncy castles and cart machines for children of all ages and there will be a children’s hour in the main arena with sack races, egg and spoon races and welly throwing competitions!
In 2010 we had over 50 trade stands selling and displaying local crafts, farmers markets, equine gear and all sorts of goods. The show provides entertainment to farming and family people and is a great local attraction on the Bank Holiday Monday.
We are always looking for fresh ideas and would like to hear from you if you have any! We are also looking for volunteers so if your available and would like to help PLEASE LET US KNOW!!!
